With her big success at the start of the year, Deepika Padukone also ended it with a bang. After her marriage to Ranveer Singh, the actress was also ranked fourth on the Forbes India celebrity list and is the highest paid woman celebrity in the country. With so much achievement over the years since she first debuted with Om Shanti Om opposite King Khan, Deepika still remains grounded.
Along with the actress, however, is her sister, Anisha Padukone, a national level Badminton player, shared some inside details about Deepika’s school life to Forbes India. Talking about the actress during school, she said, “Deepika and I were in the same school until I was in 4th grade. She always loved to participate in school plays, dancing and performing for the Teacher’s Day, the usual things kids do in school.”
In fact, she talked about one such incident where she imitated her school principal and wasn’t punished. “One incident our mother tells us about is that during one of her performances in school she imitated the principal, and that too in a convent school, where things like these are not easily accepted. Surprisingly, everyone loved her act because it was so good,” she said.
Upon bagging her first film, Anisha shared how she said she signed it with Farah Khan, she said, “When she (Deepika) informed us that Farah Khan had promised her a movie with SRK, we were a bit sceptical and asked her not to stop looking for more options. But when we realized she has actually signed the contract, all of us were very happy.”
Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot on November 14 and 15 amongst family members in Italy’s Lake Como and just recently shared in the happiness with their industry friends. Deepika took time off from work after Padmaavat and will soon get back after her honeymoon with Ranveer in March. Deepika is set to appear in Meghan Gulzar’s next.
